Improving My Health and Wellness

Part of a healthy and balanced body includes nutrition and all of the benefits that come with it. I’ve been focused lately on improving digestion and gut health in addition to my overall wellness. I started getting into herbal supplements at the recommendation of my naturopathic doctor, and some of these supplement capsules from Nature’s Way in addition to tea and foods with a boost of vitamins have helped support my overall health. (Of course I recommend consulting with a health professional before taking any supplements.) However, I wanted to share with you some of the things that I am currently taking to help other people discover the power in some of these wonderful foods and supplements! Lately, I’ve been feeling my healthiest, and am determined to keep feeling great through 2018!

Green Tea

Green tea is known to have many benefits. Green tea comes from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant which haven’t been fermented, so they contain a great deal of. Some of the benefits include:

  • Supports a healthy heart    
  • Supports immunity*
  • Supports healthy skin*

Dandelion Root and Dandelion Tea

Dandelion is an herb and the root and stem/flowers can be ground up. Incorporating Dandelion into my daily regimen has really helped support my digestion.*


Echinacea is an herb that is native to areas east of the Rocky Mountains in the United States. It is also grown in western States, as well as in Canada and Europe. Several species of the Echinacea plant are used to make medicine from its leaves, flower, and root. (source: WebMD). It has helped support my immune system to stay strong during those colder months.*


Eaten in moderation, kimchi can be very beneficial for the body. This is because it is fermented, and fermented foods help to optimize gut health. Fermented foods like kimchi have lots of beneficial microbes that will help with your digestive system!        

  • Promotes digestion
  • Regulates cholesterol
  • Beneficial Antioxidants                                                       
  • Immune support   

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is one of the oldest home remedies, and while I’m not a huge fan of the taste, I’ve always used it when I have an upset stomach. I mix a small amount with a glass of water. Apple cider vinegar has a ton of benefits.

  • Lowers blood sugar
  • Lowers cholesterol
  • Digestive health


Vitex is a new supplement recommended by my naturopathic doctor, because I was complaining about period troubles. Vitex helps support my monthly cycle*.
